Privacy & GDPR

Anymus (anymus.net) is built for anonymous, invite-only conversations. Chat messages and attachments stay on your devices (IndexedDB + peer-to-peer exchange); the server only keeps per-room metadata needed for invites and your local settings.

What We Don't Collect

• No accounts — No login identifiers or personal information
• No cookies — Only essential anonymous session ID and CSRF token
• No analytics — No tracking pixels, third-party ads, or usage metrics
• No message storage — Conversation content is never retained server-side

What We Do Store

• Room metadata — Invite token, settings, stored as simple files
• Temporary signaling — WebRTC connection setup data (discarded immediately)

Age Verification

Each participant must confirm they are 18+ before a room is created. Settings (nicknames, avatars, voice options) live in the room folder and in your browser storage; chat history stays local unless you explicitly export/import it.

Deployment Security

For production deployments, configure TURN/STUN servers that you trust, keep TLS certificates current, and schedule the provided cleanup scripts to run regularly so expired room metadata is removed automatically.
